Arlene Elizabeth (Buch) Hertzog, 97, of Ephrata, passed away Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at Fairmount Homes.

She was born in Akron to the late Harry and Nora (Hackman) Buch Brubaker and was the wife of the late Fred F. Hertzog.

Arlene was a member of the Metzler Mennonite Church where she was part of the sewing circle. She enjoyed flower gardening, crocheting, quilting and had sewn over a thousand comfort tops.

She is survived by a daughter: Nancy B., wife of Leon N. Hurst of Ephrata; a daughter-in-law: Arlene S. (Hess) Hertzog of Ephrata; and a sister-in-law, Esther White of Narvon; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a son: Kenneth B. Hertzog; and two brothers: Roy and Arthur Buch.

Services were held Feb. 3 at Metzler Mennonite Church, Ephrata, with Pastors Nevin Horning, Richard Buch, and Lee Roy Martin officiating. Interment was in the adjoining church cemetery.
