Arlene L. Nodeen, 82, of Clay Township, Ephrata, passed away peacefully at her home while surrounded by loved ones Monday, Feb. 17, 2014.

She was the loving wife of William Nodeen with whom she shared 60 years of marriage, and the devoted mother of Thomas, husband of Janey, of Fairfax Station, Va. and Susan, wife of Robert Farr, of Ardmore.

Arlene was also the adoring grandmother of Melissa Farr, wife of Jim Groff, of Lancaster; Michael Farr, husband of Courtney, of East Petersburg and Wade Price IV of Fairfax Station, Va.

Also surviving are her sister, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Born in Harvey, Ill., Arlene was the daughter of the late Carl and Myrtle Ryd. She resided in Illinois for 58 years where she raised her family and worked for many years as the secretary of her church and at several industrial firms before retiring to Lancaster County.

Arlene enjoyed doing craftwork and exploring her interest in genealogy as well as her Swedish heritage.

A lifelong member of the Lutheran church, her faith provided her with a constant strength throughout her life.

Arlene loved her family deeply, and her dedication to them exemplified the truest meaning of unconditional love.

Funeral services were held Feb. 22 at Mellingers Evangelical Lutheran Church, Stevens.

Services are under the care of Paul L. Gravenor Home For Funerals, Ephrata.
