Betty J. Wise, 87, Green Dragon worker, Fairmount Homes volunteer, enjoyed letter writing
Betty J. Wise, 87, of Ephrata, formerly of Blainsport, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Fairmount Homes.
She was born in Murrell to the late Paul and Bessie (Enck) Bennetch, and was the wife of the late Edwin W. Wise who passed away in 2013.
Betty was a graduate of Newmanstown High School. She was a member of Swamp Christian Fellowship Church in Reinholds, the Women’s Guild, and Willing Workers. She also volunteered at Fairmount Homes, and enjoyed writing letters.
Betty had worked for Keystone Nite Wear in Reinholds, Quinlan Pretzels in Denver, and The Green Dragon Farmers Market and Auction.
Betty is survived by three children: Linda Sue, wife of Robert Mull Jr., of Lancaster; David Lee Wise of Ephrata; and Teresa Kay, wife of Wayne Brookover, of Jessup, Md.; four grandchildren: Pamela, Nickolas, Christina, and Amanda; five great-grandchildren: Heather, Loi Jr., Blake, Christian, and Olivia; two brothers: Marvin Bennetch, husband of Betty, of Reinholds; and Dennis Bennetch, husband of Grace, of Lebanon.
Services were held March 22 at Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, Denver, with Pastor Bob Smallman officiating. She was interred in the Swamp Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Betty’s memory may be made to the Sharing Fund of Fairmount Homes, 333 Wheatridge Drive, Ephrata, PA 17522.
