Carl A. Good, 89, Good butcher shop owner, avid hunter, enjoyed woodworking, the outdoors

Carl A. Good, 89, of West Maple Grove Road, Denver, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017, at Fairmount Homes in Ephrata after a lengthy illness.

Born in Denver, he was the son of the late Elmer H. and Mary C. (Bender) Good. He was married 69 years on May 8 to Emma L. (Shupp) Good.

Carl owned and operated a butcher shop in Denver, Carl A. Good, Inc., for 37 years.

He was a member of the Red Run Mennonite Church and he was an avid hunter, enjoyed woodworking, the outdoors, and most recently made many woven baskets.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three children: Linda, married to Edwin Metzger of Ephrata; Sandra Merklinger of Ephrata; and Carl Good Jr. of New Holland; five grandchildren: Shawn Smucker, Roger Mast Jr., Heather Mortimer, Jessica Good, and Brandon Good; and five great-grandchildren: Kelly, Faith, Angel, Billy, and Raelyn. He was the last of his immediate family.

Funeral services were held Aug. 7 at Bowmansville Mennonite Church, East Earl. . Interment was in the Center Union Cemetery.
