Carol A. Kasenchak, 73, Denver, was Tomorrow’s World teacher, enjoyed missions, gardening

Carol A. (Johnson) Kasenchak, 73, of Denver, passed away Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016, at Ephrata Community Hospital.

Born June 18, 1942, in Allentown, she was the daughter of Robert M. Johnson, Bethlehem, and the late Roberta (Stocker) Johnson. She and her husband of 56 years, John W. Kasenchak Sr., were married June 19, 1959, in Bethlehem.

Carol was a day-care teacher for 26 years at Tomorrow’s World, Ephrata. She traveled three times to Kenya as a member of a mission team, was a 1960 graduate of Allentown High School, and a member of St. Matthew’s Evangelical Congregational Church, Macungie. Carol enjoyed gardening and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband: John; and father: Robert: Carol is survived by her children: John W. Kasenchak Jr., Denver; and Terre L. (Kasenchak) Moyer, wife of Fred Moyer, Kutztown; grandchildren: John V. Kasenchak, Philadelphia; Kimberley A. (Kasenchak) Lawrence, wife of Andrew M. Lawrence, Wernersville; Janna Lee Moyer and her spouse, Jessica Herrera, Fullerton, Calif.; and Jacob A. Moyer, Kutztown. Carol is also survived by her great-grandson: Benjamin V. Lawrence; and her brother, John S. Johnson, husband of Suzanne, Indian Hills, Colo.

Memorial services for Carol will be held Thursday, Feb. 18, at 11 a.m., at Walbert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 14390 Kutztown Road, Fleetwood, with Rev. Gary J. Dierolf officiating. A visitation will be held an hour prior to the service. Burial will be private in Arlington Memorial Park, Whitehall.
