Charles I. Sheaffer, 83, truck/Amish taxi driver, enjoyed bluegrass, Eagles and Phillies fan

Charles I. Sheaffer, 83, of Brownstown, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, at Lebanon VA Medical Center.

He was born in Brownstown to the late Charles W. and Jennie F. (Duck) Sheaffer.

Charles started as a milk delivery driver; then a driver for Charles Chips; and eventually became a self-employed truck driver, delivering cookies and candies. After retirement, he was a taxi driver for the Amish. He loved watching sports, especially the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. He also enjoyed attending bluegrass concerts and festivals.

Charles is survived by several cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister: Ruth Sheaffer.

Services were held Oct. 28 at the Stradling Funeral Home, Akron, with Pastor Larry Kipp officiating. Interment was in the Brownstown Cemetery.
