Clair B. Brooks, 95, founded C&B Trimming, Ephrata Mason, boating was his passion

Clair B. Brooks, 95, of Lititz, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Landis Homes.

He celebrated his 75th wedding anniversary with Pauline “Polly” Brooks on Dec. 24, 2016.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Rev. O.R. and Mary Brooks.

He graduated from Denver High School. After high school, he and Polly founded C&B Trimming Co. in Reamstown. He and Polly also had a residence in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., for 25 years. He was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church, Ephrata Rotary, and was a 32nd degree Mason with the Ephrata Blue Lodge No. 665 F.&A.M. He had many interests, but boating was his passion.

In addition to his wife, Clair is survived by two sons: Barry, husband of Shelby Brooks, of Ephrata; Jeffrey, husband of Kathie Brooks, of Lancaster; four grandchildren: Lori Gehman, Barret Brooks, both of Ephrata; Jason Brooks of Los Angeles, Calif.; Matthew Brooks of San Francisco, Calif.; two great-grandchildren: Krystal and Justin, both of Ephrata; and two great-great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Ray Brooks.

Services were held July 5 at the Highland Presbyterian Church, Lancaster, with the Rev. Dr. Ann Osborne officiating. Private interment will in Fairview Cemetery.
