Curtis Martin, Summers truck driver, paratrooper
Curtis F. "Paw Paw" Martin, 74, of Denver, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Lancaster General Hospital.
He was born in Akron to the late Christian and Elizabeth (Felpel) Martin. He was the loving husband of Lana (Afflerbach) Martin.
Curt was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne and retired from Summers Trucking, where he drove for 16 years. He was a life member of the Reinholds VFW. Curt enjoyed NASCAR, car trips and spending time with family and his puppy, Tucker.
In addition to his wife, Curt is survived by two daughters: Michelle, wife of Jeffrey Ludwig, of Denver; and Tracey Reichenbach, companion of Gerald Heverling, of Denver; two granddaughters: Rebecca Ludwig and Morgan Reichenbach; four additional children; a brother: George F. Martin, of Florida; and four sisters: Bertha, wife of Horace Mast, of Morgantown; Elizabeth, wife of Jake Coleman, of New Jersey; Rosella Clugston, companion of James Dull, of Lititz; and Sarah, wife of Dan Nafziger, of Lancaster.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers and two sisters.
A funeral service was held on May 2 at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, Denver. Interment took place in the Memory Gardens Memorial Cemetery. Military honors were accorded by the Red Rose Honor Guard.
