David B. Hoover, 90, Ephrata native, great-grandfather to 145

David B. Hoover, 90, was born in Ephrata on Nov. 21, 1927 and died Dec. 22, 2017, at the age of 90 years, one month, and one day.

He was preceded in death by his first wife: Mable Zimmerman Hoover; one brother: Titus Hoover; two sisters: Esther Habegger and Ella Martin; one grandson: Samuel Habegger; three great-grandchildren: Benjamin Hoover, Melvin Habegger and Lora Ruth Hoover.

He is survived by his second wife: Rebecca Nolt Hoover; 10 children: Paul and Ella Hoover; Allen and Delilah Hoover; Elam and Annie Hoover; Edwin and Emma Hoover; Sallie and James Habegger and Orpha and Joseph Habegger, all of Scottsville, Ky.; Ida and Ernest Rhodes, San Ignacio, Central America, Belize; Elsie and Reuben Hoover and Mark and Mary Hoover, all of Hillsboro, Ohio; Alice and Monroe Shirk, of Farmington, Mo.; a brother: Amos and Nora Hoover, Ephrata; two sisters: Lydia and Ivan Hoover, Pembroke, Ky.; widow Anna Brubaker, Mt. Pleasant Mills; 95 grandchildren; 142 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Dec. 26 at Oakwood Mennonite Church with Harry Habegger and Leon Miller officiating, with burial in the Oakwood Cemetery.
