David M. Zimmerman Jr., 81, farmer, woodworker, father of three, Conestoga Mennonite member

David M. Zimmerman Jr., 81, of Ephrata, passed away Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, at home.

He was born in Earl Township to the late David G. and Hetti N. (Martin) Zimmerman, and was the husband of the late Esther W. (Nolt) Zimmerman.

He was a member of Conestoga Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference. David was a farmer and woodworker.

David is survived by three sons: Wilmer N., husband of Irene (Martin) Zimmerman, of Penn Yan, N.Y.; Curvin N., husband of Susan ( Martin) Zimmerman, of Ephrata; Larry N., husband of Ella (Burkholder) Zimmerman, of Shippensburg; 28 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Aaron Zimmerman of Dundee, N.Y.; Noah Zimmerman of Roaring Springs; Daniel Zimmerman of Shippensburg; a sister: Ella, wife of Ammon Martin, of Martinsburg; and two sisters-in-law: Susan Zimmerman of Roaring Springs; and Elizabeth Zimmerman of Penn Yan, N.Y.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Joanne Zimmerman; a great-grandson: Joshua Zimmerman; five brothers: Martin, John, Jacob, Elam, and Joseph Zimmerman; and a sister: Katie Zimmerman.

Services were held Jan. 18 at Conestoga Mennonite Church, Ephrata, with Bishop Ammon Weaver officiating. Interment followed in the adjoining church cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.
