Deaths of Local Interest – April 19
Lois K. Breitegan, 89, of Lancaster, passed away April 10 at Lancaster Regional Medical Center. Lois loved American history. She was a member of Daughters of American Revolution (Donegal Chapter), Ephrata Cloister Associates, volunteered at Wheatland, and was a member of the Fulton Theater Guild. Lois had a passion for the outdoors and especially loved spending time with her family and friends.
Timothy Hughin Demeritt, 22, of Mohnton, died April 9 at Reading Hospital and Medical Center. Tim was currently enrolled at Berks Technical Institute and was a member of Bowmansville Mennonite Church, East Earl.
Thomas L. Law, 82, of Sebring, Fla., formerly of the Gap area, passed away in Kitchener, Ontario, on April 14. He had worked at the former Milprint of Christiana, Lukens Steel Company, McClure’s Pies and Salads of Gap, National Rolling Mills of Malvern, and Weis Market of Gap. He loved to go hunting, camping, square dancing and traveling. His brother, Richard M., husband of Anna Musselman Law, lives in Adamstown.
Geraldine M. Townsend, 74, of New Holland, passed away April 12 at Lancaster General Hospital. She enjoyed many crafts including knitting and crocheting. Her son, Heiland, husband of Nelsa Benedict, lives in Ephrata.
