The Rev. Dr. James W. Bright Jr., 84, of Lancaster, and formerly of Manheim, died peacefully April 28 at Landis Homes Healthcare Center. Jim, known to many as “PB” (Pastor Bright), dedicated his love, time and talents to his family, the members of the church, and to the community, seeking always to serve the Lord and His creation with humility, gentleness and grace. He was Pastor Emeritus at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Manheim. He sang with the Ephrata Cloister Chorus. He took great pleasure in model railroading and trains, gardening, carpentry, fishing, camping, travel, watching and participating in sports.

Maryjane Campbell, 86, formerly of Pequea, passed away at the Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim, on May 2. She was a member of the Marticville United Methodist Church, where she was involved with the United Methodist Women. Mary Jane retired as a secretary at Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, traveling and being with her family. Her daughter, Carol Ann, wife of Dennis R. Mellinger, lives in Akron.

Helen (Huber) Pries, 97, of Conestoga, entered into rest May 2 at Hamilton Arms, Lancaster. A Christian, Helen was an active long-time member of the Colemanville United Methodist Church, Conestoga, where she was a member since 1942. A daughter, Wendy, married to Clyde Mellinger, resides in Ephrata.

William Harley Roberts, 75, of Lewistown, passed away May 2 at his home. William was self-employed as a glass-blower for most of his life. Later in his career he was employed by Conestoga Wood Products as a woodworker. In his free time, he loved camping and playing cards. His son, Wayne Roberts, lives in Reamstown.
