Deaths of Local Interest – Nov. 29, 2017

Helen A. Buzzard, 91, of New Holland, died unexpectedly Nov. 22 at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. Helen was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed tending her rose bushes. A son, Larry L., married to Dawn (Getz) Sandoe, lives in Ephrata.

Donna L. Faulds, 64, formerly of New Holland, died Nov. 22 at Brethren Village. Donna was employed by Fairmount Homes for 30 years as an LPN. She was a member of Ridgeview Mennonite Church. A son, Jeffrey, married to Karen Ruth-Faulds; and a daughter, Sharon, married to Stephen Smeltz, all live in Ephrata.

Robert E. Lee “Bob” Flora, 80, of Lancaster, passed away Nov. 19. He was a truck driver for J.C. Snavely for many years and was known to be very social over a cup of coffee. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, oil painting, and coloring. A stepson, Craig Waller, husband of Michelle, lives in Ephrata.

Sylvia Williamson Hess, 75, died Nov. 19. A daughter, Gwendolyn Strausser (Carl), resides in Stevens

Paul H. Hinkle Jr., 83, of Fleetwood, formerly of Marietta, passed away Nov. 22 at Kutztown Manor. Paul was a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways for 24 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict.He enjoyed traveling; grocery shopping; his dog, Sniffles; and his passion was his family. He also worked with the prison ministry in Allentown. A brother, Jacob Hinkle, lives in Clay.

Edith M. Martin, 74, of Lebanon, died Nov. 21 in the WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. Edith was a retired CNA, working at Mount Hope Nazarene Community in Manheim for 37 years, and was a member of the Mountain View Mennonite Church of the Weaverland Conference in Lebanon. A sister, Earla M. Zimmerman, wife of Chester, lives in Denver.

Corissa J. Ruhl, 78, of Springfield Township, York, died Nov. 23 at her residence. She was a member of Faith Bible Fellowship Church. Mrs. Ruhl was an avid reader and had enjoyed being outdoors. Her daughter, Donna A. Roseberry, wife of Roger, lives in Denver.

Robert Willas Wilson, 74, of Kenhorst, passed away Nov. 25 at home. He was a member of Incarnation Lutheran Church in Reading and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was an assistant supervisor at Trojan Boat Company in Lancaster, and was employed by RR Donnelley & Sons Printing, retiring in 2006. A daughter, Jackie Wilson; a son, Bryan Wilson, husband of Stephanie; and a stepson Anthony Hartman, all reside in Ephrata. Full obit at
