Deaths of Local Interest – Nov. 9, 2016

Carmen “Connie” Luisia (Brito) Gerlich, 92, Ephrata, passed away Nov. 4 at Ephrata Manor. Born in Puerto Rico, she moved to New York City at the age 14 to complete her education. She had worked as a department supervisor and Spanish languages interpreter for JP Morgan Chase Bank in Manhattan, N.Y. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, gardening roses, antiquing, movies and spending time with friends and family.

Linda L. (Rosser) Hill, 65, Lancaster, died Nov. 6 at her residence. Linda adored her grandchildren and was a member of various veteran’s associations. She had been employed by Dart Containers for 35 years until her retirement. Her daughter, Jamie Cugino, wife of Greg, lives in Ephrata. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Columbia.

Deborah A. Nadu, 58, Lititz passed away peacefully with family by her side Sunday, Oct. 30, at Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy. She was the wife of Hank A. Nadu, to whom she was married for 29 years. She is survived by her brother, David Bair, husband of Terri, Akron.

Mary W. Waltman, 67, Newmanstown, formerly of Lititz and Manheim, passed away at home after a fight with ALS Oct. 31. She worked in the nursing field for over 30 years at Lancaster Regional Medical Center, Pleasant View and Brethren Village retirement homes. She loved the Lord and attended Cornerstone Baptist Church in Lititz. She enjoyed cross stitching, reading books and was an avid doll collector. Her brother, Harold, husband of Dorothy Long, lives in Ephrata.
