Deaths of Local Interest – Sept. 20, 2017

Charlotte Schroll Daugherty, 93, died Sept. 1 at Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy. She worked as a bookkeeper. Her last place of employment was with Good’s Furniture in New Holland. She enjoyed reading, was extremely gifted at knitting, enjoyed watching basketball and rarely missed watching a game played by her Philadelphia Phillies. A grandson, Matthew Good, lives in Ephrata. A stepdaughter, Carol Foltz (Timothy), resides in Brownstown.

Ruth Elizabeth Parker, 91, of Lititz, passed away Sept. 12 at UPMC Pinnacle Lititz. Ruth had worked for the Boeing Corp. in Seattle, Wash., prior to working for the Watt and Shand Department store in Lancaster. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and sewing as hobbies. Her daughter, Bonnie Jean Myers-Trout and husband, the Rev. Dennis Trout, live in Denver. A grandson, Kevin Myers and wife, Nicole, live in Ephrata.
