Deaths of local interest

Richard L. Hill, 78, of Lancaster, passed away Friday, Sept. 2, 2011 at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mount Joy. Richard served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked in commercial refrigeration and retired from Turkey Hill Dairy. His son, Jamie Hill, lives in Ephrata.

Dorothea Mann Staab, age 92, died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011 at St. Anne’s Retirement Community, where she had been a patient for two months. She previously lived in a cottage at St. Anne’s for nine years. She worked for 36 years at the former RCA Corp., retiring in 1980. She previously worked as a clerk with the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in Lancaster. Her step-daughter, Judith Loose, lives in Stevens.

Cecelia Elizabeth Cummings ("Sid"), of Lititz, passed away Monday, Aug. 29, 2011 at Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center under Hospice Care. An animal lover, she especially enjoyed cats and horses. She retired from Warner Lambert after over 20 years of service. Her faithful friend: Lynn, wife of Merle Stauffer, lives in Ephrata.

Henry C. "Hank" Will, 72, of Coatesville, died at his home Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011. Hank served in the U.S. Army. After working as an engineering technician within the Lancaster area, he received certifications as a paramedic and an EMT field training officer and was employed by American Medical Response Mid-Atlantic. Hank and his wife, the late Linda D. Lalas, co-founded the Fetal Alcohol Network and its newsletter. His daughter, Andrea Gockley, lives in Reinholds.
