Deaths of local interest

Emma H. Good Weaver, 88, of Lititz, entered into rest Monday, Sept. 3, 2012. Emma was the proprietor of Good’s Variety Store and The Store At Your Door Truck. Her daughter, Esther Mae, wife of Mahlon Herr, lives in Ephrata.

Donna L. Martin Long, 78, of Hallam Boro, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012 at the Masonic Home in Elizabethtown. She was a sales clerk with the former Best Products. Her daughter, Suzanne M., wife of David Williams, lives in Ephrata.

June (Winesett) Sumner, 82, of Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012 at the Lancaster General Hospital. She graduated from Radford University and taught elementary school for many years. Her sons, Timothy D., husband of Darlene, and her granddaughter, Jennifer Brobst, live in Ephrata.

Mr. William J. "Bill" Schnelli, of Ormond-by-the-Sea, Fla., and formerly of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., and Lancaster, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012 at the age of 90. He retired from RCA as an administrator. He served as Lt. (JG) in the U.S. Navy. His daughter, Kathleen L., wife of Michael Smith, lives in Ephrata.

Luke H. Newswanger, 78, entered into the presence of the Lord Monday, Aug. 27, 2012 due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was a truck driver for Pensupreme Dairies and a salesman for McNess Products. After his retirement, he worked providing taxi service for the Amish community. His step-brother, Paul, husband of Esther Martin, and step-sister, Anna, wife of Martin Eberly, live in Ephrata.
