Deaths of Local Interest – April 11, 2018

Stanley M. Carpenter, 91, of Manheim, passed away peacefully April 2 at Lancaster General Hospital. A lifelong farmer, Stanley owned and operated his farm in East Hempfield Township. He was a member of East Petersburg Mennonite Church. Stanley enjoyed hunting, traveling to the mountains and he loved to spend time with his family. A daughter, Mary Jane, wife of Bill Sensenig, lives in Stevens. A stepson, J. Lester, husband of Cheryl Wagner, resides in Ephrata.

Shirley Mae (Itzoe) Kreiser, 81, of Wyomissing and formerly of Elizabethtown, passed away on April 6. Shirley was a longtime member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Elizabethtown. She was an avid reader, especially of mystery novels and had a love for animals and a passion for flower gardening. Above all, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her son, John Kreiser, lives in Reinholds.

Patricia B. Liebl, 74, of Lititz passed away April 5. Patricia was an LPN and employed for most of her life by Brethren Village. Patricia was known for always taking care of people and having a hot meal for everyone. She loved to cook and never lost an argument. In her free time, she enjoyed shopping and traveling. A son, Joseph Liebl Jr., lives in Ephrata. Her daughter, Laurie Rohrer, resides in Akron.
