Deaths of Local Interest – Aug. 26, 2015

Caroline “Lynn” (Hillery) Cameron, 62, departed this life Aug. 13 after a long battle with cancer, at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. She worked as a unit supervisor at The Terraces in Ephrata, and was a part-time staff member at Arcadia. Lynn had a beautiful singing voice and sang on the church choir and enjoyed listening to gospel music. She was a collector who treasured her collection of elephants from various places.

David “DJ” Smucker Stoltzfus Jr., 25, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Lititz, passed away Aug. 23 at his sister’s residence in Lancaster. DJ attended the Worship Center, Lancaster. DJ had worked as a deli clerk and had also worked at The Coffee Company in Lancaster as a cook and at the barista bar. An avid sports fan, he loved fishing, basketball, football and had recently attended several baseball games. He was a Chicago Cubs and a Chicago Bears fan. DJ loved life and lived it to the fullest.

Ella G. Wenger, 92, of Ephrata, formerly of New Holland, died Aug. 20 at Fairmount Home. Ella was a seamstress for Bareville Garment Company for many years and a member of Groffdale Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference. She is survived by nieces and nephews.
