Deaths of Local Interest – July 8, 2015

Glenn Roland “Roll” Fadner Jr., 88, of Landisville, entered Heaven July 3. After serving in the Army Air Corps during World War II, he made his career as an electrical engineer for RCA in Lancaster. During his employment, Glenn received awards for several patents. He was one of the founders of Lancaster County ACTION. His daughter, Ann (Fadner) Morris, lives in Ephrata.

Charles J. Gallagher Jr., 67, of Landisville, passed away July 2, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was a production planner for Cinderella Knitting Mills for 20 years. He also worked for Sporting Valley Turf Farms and Stauffers of Kissel Hill.

Margaret G. Kauffman, 92, of Lancaster, passed away July 3. She was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. Her many interests included sewing, baking, and flower gardening. Margaret also volunteered at St. Anthony during school lunch and later at St. Leo in the library and with CCD instruction. Her son, Patrick J. Kauffman, husband of Vincenta, lives in Ephrata.

Bambi Lynn Martin, 42, of Reading, died July 1. Bambi earned her master’s degree in computer science and worked for Comcast. She was very crafty and enjoyed working on computers. Her brother, Steven Mast, lives in Denver.

Rose P. Tretter, 100, of Oak Leaf Manor, Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, passed away July 4 at Maple Farms in Akron. Rose’s employment consisted of two Lancaster businesses, Keppel’s Candy and the Hubley Toy Co., and she retired from RCA. She is survived by her husband of 45 years: John B. Tretter. A stepson, Douglas Tretter, husband of Kathy, resides in Ephrata.
