Deaths of Local Interest – June 20, 2018

Bess W. Hunt, a former resident of Manheim, passed away on March 6. Although her death occurred in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., she was proud to be a Pennsylvanian for almost all of her 100 years. While working for IU13, she taught in several local schools, including Ross Elementary in Lancaster and Stiegel Elementary in Manheim. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster for over 50 years and served as an Elder and Parish Visitor. A sister, Jane Wellde Hunt, lives in Akron.
Robert E. “Bob” Moyer, 87, of Manheim passed away peacefully June 17 at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. Bob owned and operated his construction business in Lancaster County and in his earlier years, he was the former owner of Trailer Village, Lancaster. He was a member of Manheim Brethren In Christ Church and volunteered with the Manheim Meals on Wheels. Bob served in the United States Army during the Korean War. His sisters reside in Denver: Ethel, wife of Lewis Slack, and Nancy, wife of Kenneth Musser.
