Diana L. Stauffer, 71, long-time foster parent, poet, enjoyed gardening, animals, her family

Diana L. Stauffer, 71, of Lititz, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, died peacefully on Tuesday, Dec.12, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.

Born in Richmond, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Alcienia Cross. She was the loving wife of William N. Stauffer, and they observed their 38th wedding anniversary in November of this year.

For many years Diana and her husband were foster parents for Lancaster County Children and Youth. Throughout the years, Diana and William lovingly cared for many children in the Lancaster County area. She was a past president of the Foster Parents Association of Lancaster County and a member of the Lititz VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Diana loved flower and vegetable gardening, cooking, drawing, writing poetry, and music. She was a great lover of animals of all kinds, but her greatest love and passion was her family.

Surviving in addition to her husband, William, is a son: Michael Stauffer at home; 13 daughters: Cynthia, wife of Esteban Artega; Ricka, wife of James Turner; Nicole Brantner, all of Ephrata; Tracy Hughes, of Lititz; Kari, wife of Jason Fisher of Elizabethtown; Angela Rios, of Willow Street; Hope Gardner of Texas; Carla Hughes of Stevens; Marie, wife of Art Hughes of Florida; Toni, wife of Martin Sherrar of York; Tasha Lewis; Delight Lemay; and Andrea Cross, all of Lancaster; 22 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; two sisters: Beverly, wife of Ralph Hahn of Greensburg, Ind.; Sherry Cross of Richmond, Ind.; a brother: Kenneth Jr., husband of Sue Cross of Indianapolis, Ind.

Preceding her in death is a brother: Jeff Cross; and a granddaughter: Kendall Kirk.

Services were held Dec.16 at Buch Funeral Home, Lititz, on Dec. 16. Interment was private.
