Donald M. Stout, 72, Keystone Pallet & Lumber owner, on Vet’s Center board

Donald M. Stout, 72, of Ephrata, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital.

He was born in Philadelphia to the late Donald R. Stout and Ann (Carroll) Kilcoyne, and was the husband of Sandra M. (Murray) Stout, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.

He was a member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Donald was the owner and CEO of Keystone Pallet and Lumber Co., founded in 1977, until his retirement in 2009.

Donald was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and on the board of directors for the Philadelphia Veterans Multi-Service Center for over 20 years.

In addition to his wife, Donald is survived by two sons: Donald M. Jr., husband of Michelle Stout, of Mohnton; Michael S., husband of Mary Gallagher Stout, of Stafford, Va.; four grandchildren: Drew, Erin, Kylie and Ryan; a great-granddaughter: Madison; two half-brothers: Bill and John Stout; and two sisters: Maureen Toal and Carolann Aufiero.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister; Peggy Ierovante.

A Mass of Christian Burial celebration will be held on Friday, March 31, at 11 a.m., at Our Mother of Perpetual Help, 320 Church Ave., Ephrata, with Father John McLoughlin C.SS.R. as celebrant. Final commendation and farewell will be private.
