Donald R. Mowery, 75, Vietnam vet, Kellogg’s retiree, enjoyed woodworking, scuba diving

Donald R. Mowery, 75, of Ephrata, died July 8, 2017, in Ephrata Community Hospital.

Born in Lancaster, a son of the late Lester H. and Hazel S. (Shiley) Mowery, he was married to Donna (Abston) Mowery for 46 years.

Don was a 1959 graduate of McCaskey High School, Lancaster; attended Millersville Normal School; and was a Navy veteran during the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Manheim, and retired after 27 years from Kellogg’s, Lancaster. He enjoyed woodworking and was a charter member of Lancaster Area Woodturners. A beloved husband to his wife, Donna, he also loved scuba diving, photography and riding bicycle.

Surviving in addition to his wife, is a daughter: Ginger E. Mowery, Ephrata; and grandchildren: Anne E. Mowery, and Lily E. Alexander.

Services will be private.
