Dorothy Erb, 91, mother of three, worked at Hestico, Shopping News, enjoyed bowling

Dorothy Erb, 91, of Ephrata, passed away on Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, at home.

She was born in East Earl Township to the late Samuel and Mary (Burkholder) Zimmerman, and was the wife of Edwin G. Erb, with whom she shared 72 years of marriage.

She was a member of Ephrata Church of the Brethren. In her early years she worked at the luncheonette at Walter W. Moyer Co., Hestico, and the Shopping News. She was also was in a bowling league sponsored by Harold E. Miley Funeral Home.

In addition to her husband, Dorothy is survived by two daughters: Judith, wife of Earl Redcay; and Deborah Hartl, both of Ephrata; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Glenn and Harlan Zimmerman; and a son-in-law: Tom, husband of Beatrice Tierney Stradling.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter: Janice Stradling.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, Oct. 18, from 9 to 10 a.m., at the Ephrata Church of the Brethren, 201 Crescent Ave., Ephrata, followed by funeral services at 10 a.m., with Pastor Rob Eshelman officiating. Interment will take place in the Groffdale Mennonite Cemetery.
