Dorothy L. Blessing, 88, JL Clark retiree, loved going to Ocean City, avid reader, Phils fan

Dorothy L. Blessing, 88, of Ephrata, passed away on Aug. 10, 2017, from a brief illness at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late John R. and Cecelia E. (Judith) Wimer. Dorothy was the wife to the late Walter B. Blessing, who died June 2006.
She retired from JL Clark with 42 years of service. She enjoyed going to the beach at Ocean City, Maryland, doing puzzle books, and spending time with her family. Dorothy was also an avid reader and Phillies fan.
Surviving are daughters: Cheryl A. Blessing, Jean (Al) Hartman; and Nancy L. Wenrich; grandchildren: Shawnna (James) Gehman, Stephanie and Jessica Wenrich; step-grandchildren: Kristina Hamme and Jeremy Wenrich; great-grandchildren: Megan and Kaylee Gehman; twin sisters: Romaine A. Frymyer and Theresa L. Zander.; and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by siblings: John M. Wimer, William J. Wimer, Richard Wimer, Mary E. Musser, Judith Houck, Jane E. Leed, and Joan L. Bireley.
A viewing will take place from 6 to 8 p.m., on Wednesday, Aug. 16, at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 17, at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church, 320 Church Ave., Ephrata. Dorothy will be laid to rest at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Drive, Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604; or to the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.
