Dorothy M. Bucher, 91, past president of ECH Aux. board, public assistance worker

Dorothy M. Bucher, 91, formerly of Adamstown, died April 8, 2015, in Denver Health & Rehabilitation Center, Stevens.

Born in Adamstown, she was a daughter of the late Paul S. and Elsie M. (Zerr) Bucher, and a 1941 Shillington High School graduate.

Dorothy was a 50-year Sunday School teacher, choir member, and lay delegate of Immanuel Evangelical Congregational Church, Adamstown. Retiring in 1984, she worked 30 years for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the Lancaster Public Assistance office, and worked earlier for Adamstown Hat Factory. She was past president, treasurer and chaplain of Lancaster Soroptimist Club; active with Ephrata Community Hospital, she was past president of the board of directors of the auxiliary, gift shop and Life Line Project volunteer. Dorothy was an avid photographer and loved horses, dogs, and cats.

Surviving is a dear friend: Angela Alessio, Lancaster.

Services were held April 14 at Good Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Reamstown, with Rev. Jeffrey R. Hain officiating.
