Douglas Russell Drumm, 56, of Denver, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014, at his residence.

He was born in Ephrata on June 11, 1958 to the late G. Russell and Irma (Derr) Drumm.

Douglas spent most of his adult life as a landscaper. His expansive knowledge of plants and hardscapes beautified many homes and businesses. After graduating from Cocalico High School in 1976, he attended Penn State. He was self employed at Drumm Landscaping in Denver and then worked as a landscape designer in the Philadelphia area. He holds an associate degree from Harrisburg Area Community College and was pursuing the establishment of a wholesale produce business at the time of his death. In addition to being a knowledgeable plantsman, Doug loved nature and spent many hours photographing trees, flowers and animals in gardens at wildlife preserves, creating an extensive body of work.

He is survived by his sister: Debra Drumm Grieve, wife of Robert Grieve of DuBois; two nephews: Ian, husband of Kelly Grieve of DuBois, Nolan, husband of Emily Grieve of Urbana, Ill.; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Services were held June 28 at Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, Denver.
