Earl E. Martin, 91, Red Run Mennonite member, dairy farmer, loved to sing, hunt

Earl E. Martin, 91, of Ephrata, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018, at Fairmount Homes.

He was born in East Earl to the late Walter and Martha (Eby) Martin, and was the husband of Elizabeth M. (Petersheim) Martin, with whom he would have celebrated 63 years of marriage this May.

A member of Red Run Mennonite Church, Earl was a dairy farmer. He loved to hunt and sing. He sang with various quartets, including the Cheerful Anthems; and the Hinkletown Male Chorus. He enjoyed spending time in the mountains at the Stony Brook Hunting Club in Lycoming County where he was a charter member.

In addition to his wife, Earl is survived by two daughters: Etta, wife of Homer Eberly of Ephrata; Kay, wife of Joe Good of Terre Hill; three siblings: Wilmer Martin, Sara Zeiset, Walter Martin; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents: he was preceded in death by three siblings: Clarence Martin, Mary Martin, and Paul Martin.

Services were held March 23 at Red Run Mennonite Church, Denver, with Pastor J. Carl Sensenig officiating. Interment took place in the Red Run Mennonite Cemetery.
