Edith M. Newman, 70, United Sleep supervisor, enjoyed dancing, was the life of the party

Edith M. Newman, 70, Denver, died at home July 26, 2017.

Born in Brecknock Township, a daughter of the late Howard G. and Lyda Mae (Thompson) Beck, her husband, Robert L. “Bobby” Newman, died Aug. 17, 2007.

A supervisor/coordinator for United Sleep Products, Denver, she enjoy dancing, playing shuffleboard, casino trips, and was the life of the party. Edith loved sports, and was an Eagles football and NASCAR/Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan. She belonged to Adamstown Rod and Gun Club, Reamstown Athletic Association, Gouglersville Fire Company, and Reinholds VFW.

Surviving are her children: Lisa (David) Troutman, Leola; Robin (Dan) Fredrickson, Hopeland; and Robert L. Beck Jr., Denver; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister: Mary Jane Beck, Denver; and brothers: William H. (Dorothy) Beck, Denver; and Harry R. (Deb) Beck, Mohnton.

Siblings: Fern M. Gangaway, Lyda Mae Moyer and Howard L. Beck, predeceased her.

Funeral services were held July 31 at Good Funeral Home, Reamstown, with Chaplain Nilda Roman officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Memorial Park, Ephrata.
