Edna M. Snader, 93, talented poet, loved board games, Denver Mennonite member
Edna M. Snader, 93, on March 10, 2017, went to be with Jesus who she had served faithfully for many years. Her death came following several months of declining health as the result of congestive heart failure. She was a resident of Fairmount Homes, Ephrata.
Edna was very generous, with a heart for those less fortunate than herself. In addition to being a talented poet, she enjoyed board games and loved to read. She was a member of Denver Mennonite Church.
Edna was the daughter of the late Samuel and Lydia (Hollinger) Sauder, Goodville; and was married to Raymond Snader for 64 years prior to his death in 2011.
She is survived by sisters: Mildred Pinto, Barceloneta, P.R.; Bertha Kreider, Denver; Dora Horst, New Holland; and a brother: Laurence (Evelyn) Sauder, Harrisonburg, Va.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Marian; and by siblings: Miriam Landis, Erma Wenger, Ruth Sauder, and Leroy Sauder.
Edna is survived by her children: Ray (Sylvia Bomberger) Bybee, Tenn.; Esther, Anqing, China; Naomi (Mark) Hannay, Mohnton; James (Glenda Martin), Myerstown; Mark, Mohnton; Rhoda (Paul) Zook, New Holland; Andrew (Naomi Herr), Denver; and Sarah, Phillipsburg, N.J.
She loved her children, 19 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Edna requested that donations be made to one of her favorite charities: Christian Aid Ministries, 2412 Division Highway East, Ephrata, PA 17522.
Services were held March 18 at Denver Mennonite Church, Denver. She was buried at Martindale Mennonite Church, Ephrata.
