Edward P. Woerner, 89, Korean War vet, Ephrata Borough worker, Carpenter’s Church member

Edward P. Woerner, 89, formerly of Ephrata Township, passed away on Friday, Aug. 17, 2018, at The Gardens at Stevens.
He was born in Lancaster to the late Paul and Mary (Yellets) Woerner, and was the husband of the late Pauline (Heberling) Woerner, who died in 2006.
He was a former member of the Carpenter’s Community Church.
Edward served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as an equipment operator for Ephrata Borough prior to his retirement.
Edward is survived by a sister: Shirley Reiley of Philadelphia.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 22, from 1 to 2 p.m., at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut St., Denver. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m., with Pastor Glenn Hoover officiating. Interment will take place in the Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Brickerville.

Ed was vary close to me when I was younger as I got older we drifted apart but he will always have a place in my heart he was like a grandfather to me he was pappy his wife mom-mom and his mother in law was grandma… ed taught me a lot on how to clean junk and going to actions where many of the things we did together… Also going to church on Sunday’s and to the dinner in Lebanon… he will be greatly missed but I am glad he can now rest easy… R.I.P PAPPY
