Edwin W. Hoover, 86, retired farmer, member of Springville Mennonite Church

Edwin W. Hoover, 86, of Ephrata, passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at Lancaster General Hospital.

He was born in Clay Township to the Edwin Z. and Ella O. (Weaver) Hoover, and was the husband of the late Edith W. Hoover, who passed away in 2007.

A retired farmer, he was a member of Springville Mennonite Church (Weaverland Conference).

Edwin is survived by four children: Marian S., wife of Mervin Hoover of Pelham, Ga.; Arlene S. Hoover of Ephrata; Edwin S., husband of Esther (Huber) Hoover of Denver; Elaine S., wife of Eugene Garman of Schuylkill Haven; 15 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Emma W. Hoover, Esther W. Hoover, both of Denver; and a sister-in-law: Katie Z. (Horning) Hoover of Ephrata.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by seven siblings: Menno W. Hoover, Eli W. Hoover, Phares W. Hoover, Anna W. Hoover, Aaron W. Hoover, Mary W. Stauffer, Norman W. Hoover; four sisters-in-law: Lizzie N. Hoover, Mary N. Hoover, Frances N. Weaver, Erma G. (Wise) Hoover; a brother-in-law: Benjamin K. Stauffer; and a grandchild.

Services were held April 9 at Springville Mennonite Church, Ephrata, with Bishop Melvin H. Martin officiating. Interment took place in the adjoining church cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.
