Eli Nolt, 82, farmer

Eli M. Nolt, 82, of Ephrata, entered into rest Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, at Fairmount Homes.

He was born in Earl Township to the late Eli and Mattie (Martin) Nolt and was the husband of Anna Mary (Weaver) Nolt. They would have been married 60 years, this November.

He was a member of Meadow Valley Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference. Eli worked as a farmer, and later for John Weidman and Sons Oil Company as a driver and serviceman.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son; E. Merle, husband of Elaine (Good) Nolt, of Ephrata; two daughters: Darla R., wife of Gerald S. Musser, of Ephrata; and A. Louise, wife of John S. Newswanger, of Robesonia; five brothers: Ivan, husband of Mary (Oberholtzer) Nolt, of Ephrata, David, husband of Anna (Sauder) Nolt, of Annville, Martin, husband of the late Lizzie (Horning) Nolt, of Kutztown; John, husband of Mary (Martin) Nolt, of Myerstown; and Allen, husband of Florence (Horst) Nolt, of New Holland; two sisters: Martha, wife of Samuel Martin, of Narvon; and Lizzie, wife of Moses Good, of Manheim; two sisters-in-law: Mary Nolt of Ephrata; and Anna Nolt, of Manheim; 15 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Titus and Irvin Nolt; and a sister: Ella M. Nolt.

A funeral services was held Aug. 10 at the Wheatridge Chapel with further services at the Meadow Valley Mennonite Church, Meadow Valley and Rettew Mill Road, Ephrata, with Bishops Lester B. Martin, Frank Horning and Ministers Gary Zimmerman and Paul Newswanger officiating. Interment took place in the adjoining church cemetery.
