Elizabeth M. Hornberger, 89, mother of five, enjoyed playing cards and board games

Elizabeth M. Hornberger, 89, of Waldo, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016, at Willowbrook Christian Village, Delaware, Ohio.

She was born in Mohnton to the late Wayne and Mary (Seifrit) Messner, and was the wife of the late Raymond Hornberger, who passed away in 1999.

She was a member of the Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene in Mount Vernon, Ohio. She enjoyed playing cards and board games with family and friends.

Elizabeth is survived by four children: Larry (Linda) Hornberger, Kenneth (Ruth Ann) Hornberger, Sally Wetzel, and Judy Yake; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers: John Messner; and Jimmy (Susie) Messner; and a sister: Molly Althouse.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter: Molly Hornberger McKenzie; and two brothers: Sam and Jacob Messner.

Services were held Nov. 19 at Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, Denver. Interment followed in the Hahnstown United Zion Cemetery.
