Elizabeth M. Weaver, 98, homemaker, Groffdale Conference member, had 200 great-grandchildren
Elizabeth M. “Lizzie” (Shirk) Weaver, 98, of Kutztown, died Friday, March 10, 2017, in the residence she shared with her daughter, Alta S. Weaver.
She was the widow of Harvey B. Weaver, who died July 28, 1997. Born in East Earl, she was a daughter of the late Noah M. and Susanna N. (Martin) Shirk.
She was a member of the Groffdale Conference of Mennonites, and attended Fleetwood Mennonite Church, Richmond Township. She was a homemaker.
Lizzie is survived by sons: Noah S., husband of Edna N. (Leid) Weaver, Versailles, Mo.; Luke S., husband of Esther M. (Martin) Weaver; Adam S., husband of Nora M. (Hurst) Weaver; both of Fleetwood; Elmer S., husband of Ella W. (Ringler) Weaver, Shippensburg; daughters: Alta S. Weaver, with whom she resided; Ellen S. (Weaver), wife of Marvin N. Leid; Sara S. (Weaver), wife of Harlan B. Snyder; both of Withee, Wisc.; Martha S. (Weaver), wife of James Z. Nolt, Kutztown. Other survivors include sisters: Barbara M. (Shirk) Schrock, Goshen, Ind.; and Lydia M. (Shirk) Clemmer, Harrisburg; 55 grandchildren, 198 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Harvey, and her parents, she was predeceased by a son: Eli S. Weaver; brothers: Henry M. Shirk, Aaron M. Shirk, Ammon M. Shirk, Samuel M. Shirk, Noah M. Shirk Jr., and Adam M. Shirk; sister: Susanna M. (Shirk) Nolt; one grandson; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held March 15 at Fleetwood Mennonite Church, Richmond Township. Interment was in Fleetwood Mennonite Church Cemetery.
Ludwick Funeral Homes Inc., Kutztown, was in charge of arrangements.
