Ella M. Martin, 82, homemaker, mother of five, Lime Rock Mennonite member

Ella M. Martin, 82, of Ephrata, formerly of Stevens, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017, at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

She was born in East Earl to the late Moses H. and Ella S. (Martin) Weiler, and was the wife of Samuel S. Martin, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage.

Ella was a homemaker and a member of Lime Rock Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference.

In addition to her husband, Ella is survived by five children: Dale W., husband of Brenda (Weaver) Martin of Stevens; Leland W. Martin of Stevens; Larry J., husband of Judy (Martin) Martin of Stevens; Marlin W., husband of Wanda (Miller) Martin of Stevens; Joyce Darlene, wife of Bryon G. Hurst of Denver; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four brothers: Ivan M., husband of Esther (Lehman) Weiler of Ephrata; Harvey M., husband of Edna (Martin) Weiler of Manheim; Mose M., husband of Vicki (Ressel) Weiler of Ephrata; Clarence M., husband of Judy (Martin) Weiler of Myerstown; and two brothers-in-law: Norman Good, Isaac Zimmerman, both of Ephrata.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: Raymond M. Weiler; and two sisters: Emma Good, Mabel Zimmerman.

Services were held Nov. 2 at Springville Mennonite Church, Ephrata, with Bishop Melvin Martin and ministers Henry Horning, Elam Ray Martin, and Ray Martin officiating. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.
