Ella May Shaffer, 81, Grace Family Church member, loved caring for great-granddaughter
Ella May Shaffer, 81, of New Holland, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital.
She was born in Keezletown, Va., to the late Herman M. and Mary E. (Dorman) Emerson, and was the wife of the late Richard A. Shaffer who passed away in 2010.
She was a member of Grace Family Church, New Holland. Ella was a homemaker. She loved life, especially taking care of her great-granddaughter. She also enjoyed watching the Carolina Panthers.
Ella is survived her daughter: Shelby A., wife of Barry Sensenig of New Holland; her son: Thomas, husband of Brenda Shaffer of Timberville, Va.; her adopted daughter, Kerry Neider of Arizona; seven grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Edith Derrer and Judy Smith.
A memorial will be held at a later date. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
If desired, memorial contributions in Ella’s memory may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, 301 Grant St. #900, Pittsburgh, PA, 15219.
