Elva L. Brubaker, 97, worked at AN Wolf Shoes, attended St John’s UCC

Elva L. Brubaker, 97, of Akron, formerly of Denver, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital.

She was born in Denver to the late Raymond K. and Alice (Mellinger) Leed, and was the wife of the late Russell Brubaker, who died in 1993.

She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Denver, and in her working years Elva worked as a shoemaker for AN Wolf Shoes.

Elva is survived by several nieces, nephews, great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by five siblings: Leroy Leed, Irene Rutt, Warren Leed, Beulah Burkholder, and Donald Leed.

Services were held June 9 at Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, Denver, with Chaplain Karen Sweimler officiating. Interment took place in the Fairview Cemetery, Annex.
