Emerson A. Wolf, 93, of Shillington, passed away Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at Reading Hospital.

He was born in Schoeneck, son of the late Andes and Sallie (Harting) Wolf and was the husband of the late Gertrude L. (Lied) Wolf, who passed away March 7, 2011.

He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Shillington. He was also a charter and life member of the Brendle-Coleman Post #8795 V.F.W. in Adamstown.

Emerson was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. He worked as a supervisor for the Dana Corp. for 33 years. He also worked as a security guard for Boscov’s for 10 years.

He played on several baseball teams in Lancaster County and was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling.

Emerson is survived by three children: Ronald E., husband of Jeanette Wolf of Tenn.; Roberta, wife of Donald Schaeffer Sr. of Lancaster and Richard E., husband of Karen Wolf of Mohnton; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Rosemary Wolf, a grandson: Keith A. Wolf and a half-brother: Ernest Crouse.

A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Feb. 22 at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut St., Denver. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will take place in the Mellinger’s Union Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded.
