Ervin N. Weaver, 83, MM Weaver & Sons owner, Massey Harris/Ferguson collector

Ervin N. Weaver, 83, of New Holland, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at his home, on Monday, Dec. 18, 2017.

He was the loving husband of the late Alta Z. (Martin) Weaver who passed away on Aug. 12, 2009. They were married for 53 years. Born in West Earl Township, he was the son of the late Martin M. and Elizabeth (Nolt) Weaver.

He was a member of Groffdale Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference. He was owner of MM Weaver & Sons farm machinery business for 60-plus years. He enjoyed visiting with family, friends,

and business acquaintances. He also enjoyed traveling and collecting Massey Harris/Ferguson machinery.

Ervin is survived by a son: Clifford, husband of JoBeth (Forney) Weaver of Ephrata; five daughters: Joyce M., wife of Wilmer G. Hurst of Richland; Janice F., wife of Aaron E. Hurst of Leola; Darla J., wife of Raymond Brubacher of Morgantown; Silvia M., wife of John David Weaver of Denver; Sharon K., wife of Gary L. Martin of Ephrata; 34 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Frank, husband of Laura Weaver of Narvon; Edward, husband of Arlene Weaver of New Holland; and Ivan Weaver of Lancaster; a sister: Nora, wife of Willard Stauffer of New Holland (wife of the late Ivan Horst); and a brother-in-law: Leon, husband of Clara Martin of Ephrata (husband of the late Verna).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Howard Weaver; and two sisters: Verna (Weaver) Martin and Edna Weaver.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, Dec. 21, from 1 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. at the Martindale Fellowship Center, 352 Martindale Road, Ephrata. Family services will be held Friday, Dec. 22, at 9 a.m. at Farm Crest, with further services at 9:30 a.m. at the Groffdale Mennonite Church, 90 Groffdale Church Road, Leola, with Bishop Curvin Z. Zimmerman and Ministers Edwin Reiff, Richard Burkholder and Paul Newswanger officiating. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.
