Frances E. Claudy, 102, F & M Hat Co. retiree, oldest Reinholds VFW Auxiliary life member

Frances E. Claudy, 102, of Stevens, formerly of Reinholds and Denver, passed away Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016, at Gardens at Stevens Nursing Home.

She was born in Denver to the late John and Ida (Killian) Fassnacht, and was the wife of the late Charles W. “Woody” Claudy, who passed away in 2003.

Frances was the oldest member of the Faith United Evangelical Church in Denver. She was also the oldest, and a life member, of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Reinholds VFW Post #6759. Frances worked for the F & M Hat Company for 50 years before retiring.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters: Grace, Katherine, Sadie, and Susan.

Services were held Dec. 28 at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, Denver, with Pastor Joseph A. Veres officiating. Interment took place in the Swamp Cemetery.
