Frida A. Barbernitz, 87, Busy Bee Enterprises owner, enjoyed traveling and gardening

Frida A. Barbernitz, 87, formerly of Denver, died peacefully on Dec. 8, 2016, at Country Meadows, Wyomissing.
Born in Reading, a daughter of the late Franz and Frida (Rochner) Holzapfel, her husband, Peter M. Barbernitz, died July 7, 2006.
She was a graduate of Catholic High School of Baltimore, and received her associate degree from the Pennsylvania State University. A member of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church, she was the former owner-operator of Busy Bee Enterprises, Akron, Ohio. Traveling, gardening and feeding birds made her happy.
Surviving are a daughter: Mary (Jon) Carrado, Chicago, Ill.; sons: Peter M. Barbernitz Jr. (Linda Pescarmona), Silver Spring, Md.; Thomas F. (Judy Estep) Barbernitz, Mississippi; and Mark J. (Martha Albanese) Barbernitz, Scranton; 10 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; sister: Mary Selleck; and brother: Albert (Patty) Holzapfel.
A daughter: Anne Hughes; and a sister: Elsie Walter; predeceased her.
A Memorial Mass was celebrated Dec. 12 at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church, Sinking Spring. Private entombment was in Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum, Laureldale.
