Galen Roger Dick, 81, taught at Hollidaysburg Area Junior High School, father of three

Galen Roger Dick, 81, of Stevens, and formerly of Hollidaysburg, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, with his loving wife by his side.

He was born on April 15, 1936 in Roaring Spring to Joseph G. Dick and Leda M. Dick.

He received his B.S. in biology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He taught at Hollidaysburg Area Junior High School for 32 years.

He is survived by: Peggy Ellen, his wife of 59 years; children: Elizabeth Beecher, of Columbus, Ohio; Catherine Wilusz (David) of Brookeville, Md.; and Julie Kubitsky (David) of Lititz; grandchildren: Matthew Hunter (Libby) and Sarah Kubitsky; great-granddaughter: Harriet Mae Hunter; sister: Jane Greenleaf, of Martinsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by a sister: Ruby Hoover; and three brothers: Gerald, Donald, and Joseph Dick.

Services were held Jan. 5 at Berean Bible Church, Ephrata. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
