Glenn L. Ruhl, 73, Denver, owned Glenn’s Gun Shop, enjoyed shooting, bowling

Glenn L. Ruhl, 73, of Denver, passed away unexpectedly Monday, Aug. 17, 2015, at Ephrata Community Hospital.

Glenn was born in Ephrata, son of the late Lester K. and Arlene R. (Shirk) Ruhl.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon E. (Carpenter) Ruhl, with whom he would have celebrated 49 years of marriage this December; and their daughter: Susan E. Ruhl of Lancaster.

He was a 1960 graduate of Ephrata High School and currently worked cataloging firearms for Horst Gun Auctions at the Horst Auction Center in Ephrata. He previously worked in sales at the former Galen’s in Lincoln and from 1982 to 1997 owned and operated Glenn’s Gun Shop (later Trout Run Sports) in Ephrata.

Glenn was a firearms enthusiast and collector. He enjoyed target shooting and going to flea markets in search of collectable firearms. An avid bowler, Glenn rolled multiple perfect 300 games. Glenn also enjoyed fishing, photography, and spending time in the outdoors and at his cabin in Bradford County.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.

    I will really miss Glenn. I’ve known him since his days running the gun shop, and I always talked to him about the latest Horst gun auction, and asked him if he “found anything good today” when I saw him at the Leesport flea market on Wednesdays. Going to Leesport won’t be the same without him there. God Bless You, Glenn, you’ll be missed by many people, probably more than you ever realized.
