Grace Landis Bailey, 88, of Ephrata, passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at the Ephrata Manor.

She will be missed by her family and friends.

Born in West Earl Township, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Emma (Myer) Landis and was the wife of the late Herschel Bailey who passed away in 1993.

Grace was a member of the Reamstown Church of God, a former member of the Pentecostal Church of God, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Faith Fellowship, Honey Brook. She was a graduate of Lancaster Mennonite High School and Hahnemann Hospital as an RN. During her working years, she was an RN in Pennsylvania, Cheyenne, Wyo. and the Shriner’s Crippled Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, for 17 years. Grace was fun loving and lived her life to the fullest. She especially enjoyed praise and worship singing at church. In her younger years she enjoyed horseback riding and in later years enjoyed playing bingo at Ephrata Manor.

Grace is survived by grandson: Cole Landis Bailey of Boone, N.C.; two sisters: Ada M. Landis and Esther Charles, both at Landis Homes.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son: John Landis Bailey; siblings: Mary Snader, Norma Weaver, John Landis, Paul Landis, Ruth Eberly, Anna Metzler, Martha Nolt, Lena Landis, Ivan Landis and Luke Landis.

A funeral was held Jan. 27 at the Reamstown Church of God, Stevens, with Pastor Joel R. Hainley officiating. Interment took place in Metzler Mennonite Cemetery.
