Hazel Hacker Finnefrock, 92, Ephrata, worked at Cloister Dairies, Ephrata Legion member, enjoyed dancing

Hazel Hacker Finnefrock, 92, of Ephrata, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Ephrata Manor.

Hazel was born Oct. 25, 1922 in Ephrata, daughter of the late Arlington W. Hacker and Treva Becker Hacker. Her husband, the late Lloyd Finnefrock, died Nov. 1, 1983.

She was a graduate of Ephrata High School and attended Lancaster Business College and worked at Good’s Restaurant, Green Dragon, and Cloister Dairies offices. During World War II, she was the chief clerk of Selective Services Board No. 5 in Ephrata.

A member of the First United Methodist Church of Ephrata, Hazel was also an active member of the Ephrata American Legion Post 429 and member of AARP, Golden Years of Ephrata Recreation Center, Eicher Arts Center and the Cocalico Valley Historical Society. Hazel enjoyed golf, cards, and dancing.

Surviving are a daughter: Abbie Bazella, wife of Henry Bazella, of Apollo; son: Daniel Finnefrock of Tulsa, Okla.; two grandchildren: Sally Gorenflo, and husband Doug Gorenflo of Dallas, Texas; and Andrew Finnefrock of Tulsa, Okla.

A memorial service is planned for September, and will be published at a later date.
