Helen Maser, homemaker, farmer, Phillies fan

Helen Elizabeth Young Maser entered into eternal rest Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012 while under the professional and caring staff of Denver Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Lancaster County Hospice & Community Care.

She was the widow of Warren C. Maser, who passed away July 8, 1983. They celebrated over 49 years of marriage. She was the daughter of the late Thomas B. and Maud M. Henry Young.

A homemaker, she worked beside her husband farming and lovingly provided child care to her grandchildren. She was an avid Phillies fan.

She is survived by daughters: Doris Hurter, with whom she resided, and Gloria Fluck, both of Leola; three grandchildren: J. Michael, husband of Ann (Pragosa) Fluck, of Reinholds; Jereme Fluck, of Leola; and Jennifer, wife of Phil Sykes, of Clifton Park, N.Y.; and four great-grandchildren: Michael, Shaelyn, Makenna and Pierson Fluck.

She was preceded in death by a grandson: Terry Hurter; son-in-law: James Fluck; sisters: Mary Groff Ford, Gladys Brooks and Esther Hart; and brother: John Young.

Private graveside services will be held at Heller’s Church Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
