Helen Smith Erb, 88, Hesteco Dress Factory worker, attended Ephrata Church of Brethren

Helen Smith Erb, 88, formerly of Ephrata, entered into rest at Delaney Park Health and Rehabilitation Center, Orlando, Fla., on Sunday, June 4, 2017, where she had been a resident for six years.

She was born in Millway, a daughter of the late William and Annie Smith. She was the wife of the late Melvin G. Erb for 62 years and resided in Orlando, Fla., since 1987. Helen was a seamstress at Hesteco Dress Factory for many years. She was a longtime member of the Ephrata Church of the Brethren before moving to Florida.

Surviving are two daughters: Beverly E., wife of James Shoemaker, of Orlando, Fla.; and Carole A. Montes of Ephrata; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a sister: Edith Snyder of Reinholds.

She was preceded in death by a brother: Harold T. Smith.

A viewing will be held on Friday, June 9, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Stradling Funeral Home, 201 Church Ave., Ephrata, followed by funeral services at 2 p.m. Interment will take place in the Memory Gardens Memorial Cemetery.
