Hilda M. Hornberger, 99, of Ephrata, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015.

Her husband of 63 years, the late Robert L. Hornberger, passed away May 24, 1999. Hilda was born in Earl Township, daughter of the late Henry L. Stafford and Laura E. (Fox) Stafford.

She was a member of Bergstrasse Lutheran Church and formerly worked in Ephrata area sewing factories. Hilda was a member of the Ephrata Pioneer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and the Lititz Senior Citizens Group. She enjoyed playing bingo, fishing, and traveling.

Surviving are two children: Robert L. Hornberger Jr., husband of Lydia, of Peach Bottom; and Pauline (Polly) H., wife of Vernon D. Schmuck, of Ephrata; one brother: George W. Stafford of Ephrata; one sister: Cora E. Wenger, wife of Harold Wenger, of Denver; four grandchildren: Jeffry Hornberger of Ephrata; Gregory L. Schmuck, husband of Lisa A., of Ephrata; Cynthia L. (Schmuck) Adams, wife of Jim Adams, of Lititz; and Tammy (Hornberger) Gebhart, wife of Kevin Gebhart, of New Providence; four great-grandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; 10 stepgreat-great-grandchildren; eight nieces; and four nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Hilda was preceded in death by one great-grandson: T.J. Bair; one great-granddaughter: Brittany Sue Adams; four brothers: Paul, Henry Jr., Frank, and Raymond Stafford; and one sister, Irene Flickinger.

Services were held Aug. 10 at Paul L. Gravenor Home for Funerals, Ephrata, with Rev. Herbert Lohr officiating. She was interred at Bergstrasse Lutheran Cemetery, Ephrata Township.
